The annual Space Propulsion summit, organized by the Aeronautics and Astronautics Association of France in close collaboration with the Europe Space Agency (ESA) and the French Space Agency (CNES), has taken place during four days at our Convention Center, on May 14th-18th 2018. The event opening was presided by Seville’s city Mayor, Juan Espadas; Michel Scheller, President of L’Association aéronautique et astronautique de France (3AF); Johann-Dietrich Wörner, General Director of the ESA; Juan Carlos Cortés, Director of International Programs at CDTI, and Giorgio Saccoccia and Dominique Ribereau, Presidents of Space Propulsion.
More than 700 professionals from over 30 countries attended the meeting as experts or delegates from the industry, academic world or different organizations.
Event organization involved a first day of open doors with plenary meetings and round tables hosted by industry representatives, general managers, and equipment suppliers. The following four days were devoted to parallel activities, presentations, and plenary sessions.
An area of special importance during the Summit was the exhibition area in our hall, a space that guaranteed maximum visibility and encompassed the coffee break and lunch zones.
The event takes place within the city strategy of fostering the aerospace sector, and the occasion that Seville will hold the Community of Ariane Cities Presidency in 2019. During these sessions, the network of major cities and industries of this sector has confirmed a satellite launching with the name of the city during the first semester of the next year, to celebrate the appointment.
