Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento will host three international summits in 2019, 2010, and 2022 of low-cost airlines operating long-haul, the first of them focused on the industry of aircraft maintenance and repair.

The public-private collaboration developed during the CAPA Low-Cost Long-Haul Global Summit which brought together leaders of low-cost companies and industry decision-makers. Seville and our hotel Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento for the first time in its history were the destination and venue chosen as a place of celebration during October of last year. Its main objective was to strengthen connectivity and boost long-distance tourism as a gateway to investments in the aerospace industry. The celebration of this summit has opened the way to organize three new events in 2019, 2020 and 2022.

The first celebration scheduled for October 2019 will focus on the development of the aircraft maintenance and repair industry (CAPA Global MRO Leaders’ Forum & MRO Awards for Excellence). The following two, comprise a follow-up of the one carried out in 2018, where our hotel will be presented as permanent venue for international events of the CAPA-Center for Aviation Asia-Pacific association located in Australia.

The celebration of this summit bring the city a reinforcement of its air connectivity, and, consequently, a boost the MRO industry (maintenance, repair and revision operations), and subsequently an increase of tourism. The municipal delegate of Urban Habitat, Culture, and Tourism, Antonio Muñoz, pointed out that “public-private collaboration has been vital to attract again three key events for the development of strategic productive sectors of our economy and our employment: tourism and aerospace industry.”

The dates for the CAPA Low-Cost Long-Haul Global Summit in 2020 and 2022 will take place also in October, with more than 200 delegates in each edition and representatives from airlines, airports, tourism executives (tour operators, hotel chains, travel agencies…) and professionals of the aviation industry.

Three events that prove that Seville and its infrastructures provide an excellent destination for international events.
