One of the most awaited events in the city, Seville’s Feria, is also one of the most popular and colorful festivities around the world.
During a week, the whole city gathers around the 275,000 square meters of the Real, more than a thousand casetas embellished with stripes, little banners, and round paper lanterns. This amazing spectacle of lights and folklore welcomes 500,000 visitors per day, besides riders and horse-drawn carriages.
Private and family casetas usually do not allow free access to the general public, unless the visitors enter accompanied by a member or holding an invitation. However, fundraising, organizations, political parties, unions, etc., have their own with free access.
Which part of the Real could be ideal to host MICE tourism?
For this Feria de Abril 2018 edition, the city council Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, in collaboration with the Tourist Board and Contursa-Fibes, has adopted a new management model for the public caseta specifically aimed to the visiting public. The major goal is to provide tourists a definite area and facilitate their integration and enjoyment in this festivity, plus an area hosting tour operators, travel agencies, among other MICE professionals.
By means of this agreement, the caseta ‘Turismo de Sevilla’, welcomes this year both visitors and business professionals, becoming a meeting place for city experts and tourists, and a perfect scenario to promote Seville as cultural and destination for meetings, incentives, conventions and events.
Seville’s Feria de Abril generates a great media impact at both national and international level. Media professionals worldwide come to the city to broadcast live from the area, contributing to the positioning and visibility of this special event and the image of Seville as a tourist destination.
